Dependency mode

If you enable "Dependency mode" then the due date of the tasks will automatically be adjusted.

Let's say you have two tasks: Launch a new website and promote the new website on social media.

Now if the task "Launch a new website" takes a bit longer and if you change the due date of this task, then all the dependent task's due dates will automatically change.

How Dependency mode works

The dependency mode requires three columns: Due date(Date field), Dependency(Text Field) and Effort(Number field). Based on these three columns, the due dates of the dependent tasks are calculated.

When you enable "Dependency mode" then NeetoPlanner will first check if those three columns already exist or not. If those three columns don't exist already, then those columns will be created.

If columns already exist, NeetoPlanner will check if they are the right type. The due date column must be a date field. Dependency must be a text field. Effort must be a number field.

Once "Dependency mode" is enabled, then you can fill out which task is dependent on which task and how much effort is required to finish tasks. Based on that information, the due date would automatically be calculated.

Enabling Dependency Mode

To enable "Dependency mode" click on the gear icon to the right of the project name. From the options choose "Enable Dependency Mode". Follow the instructions.
